Freehand mini love hearts Valentine's nails

I'm not normally one for Valentine's but it does provide a good excuse for cute nail designs! In doing this one I learned that whilst I may be able to draw and paint on a canvas, that doesn't necessarily translate to nails. I still think this turned out okay, but it's not quite the sleek, smooth lines I envisioned. Also, the pictures for these didn't come out as clear as I thought... and I only realised after I had already taken the mani off. Rookie mistake! Anyway, to create this look I used: Primark PS Polish in Vintage Rose Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Freestyle Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint in Opulent Barry M Glitter Nail Paint in Ruby Slippers Nailfun Stamping Lack in White & Silver Dotting tools Nail art brush I started off with Barry M Super Mani as a basecoat. I then painted my nails white. Taking Ruby Slippers, I rubbed the brush against the neck of the bottle to get rid of most of the polish until it was almost d...

Primark PS... Polish Swatches & Review (Vintage Rose, Marine, and Cloud)

I realise I am late to the party here (and by late I mean about 4 years late...) BUT I figured better late than never, right? I've always liked having my nails painted but I didn't really start getting serious about my nails until about a year ago. This is probably why I have never paid attention to the nail polish selection at Primark. During my latest trip, however, the polishes did catch my eye (finally!), so I bought these 3 to try out. At only 90p each I couldn't really say no! If it weren't for the fact I had loaded up with clothes and my bank account was already crying I would have most likely purchased more than 3. Marine Marine is a gorgeous navy blue and was perfect in 2 coats. I have a few blues in my collection but I was lacking a navy, so I am really glad I stumbled across this! Cloud Cloud is a very dark green (it reminds me of army green, but darker). Like Marine, it had perfect opacity after 2 coats. Vintage Rose Vintage Rose ...

Grey Marble Nails using W7 and Barry M

I don't know about you guys but I have really been liking the marble nail trend that has been going on for, well, a loooong  time now. So I decided to have a stab at it myself and... I decided to go for a busier marble look than the delicate few line style you see, although I think it ended up somewhat reminiscent of a kitchen counter. Nevertheless, to create this look I used: W7 Polish in Glisten Barry M Nail Paint in Vintage Violet Barry M Nail Paint in Mystic Purple (this one is LE to Boots) Nailfun Stamping Lack polish in White Clear stamper As always start with a basecoat; I used Barry M Super Mani. I then applied 2 coats of W7 Glisten - this polish is absolutely gorgeous and has small glitter specks that catch the light and well, give this polish it's name!  Now onto creating the marble look. The technique I used has been all over Instagram recently: using a stamper to "smoosh" the polish. I like to research before I try a technique a...

Underwater Gradient Nails with Glitter & Stamping

These nails were something I thought of quite a while ago but only recently got round to doing! They are the more adventurous/time consuming version of the look I did  here . To create this look I used: Nailfun Stamping Lack polish in Black & White Rimmel Salon Pro in Green Dragon Seventeen Gel Colour in Hurricane Seventeen Colour Clash Nail Effects in In The Surf Biutee BC-08 stamping plate Stamper (I used a clear one) Start off with a basecoat, and then add the white polish as a base. Next we're going to create the gradient effect. For this you can use a skin barrier such as latex or tape, but if you have neither of these you can just clean up around your nails with nail polish remover and a cotton swab or small make up brush. On a clean make up sponge paint one stripe of dark blue (Hurricane), one stripe of the lighter blue (Green Dragon, although I really wouldn't say this polish is green), and one stripe of white. Then, dab it on your nails w...

Quick & Easy Cute Whale Stamp (Barry M Molten Metal)

Need a quick but super simple mani? Then this may be one for you! To achieve this I used: Barry M Molten Metal nail paint in "Blue Glacier" Biutee BC-08 stamping plate Stamper (I used a clear one) Nailfun Stamping Lack polish in Black & White As with any mani it's important to protect your natural nails. Start off with a basecoat (I used Barry M's Super Mani). When dry apply two coats of the Molten Metal polish. Honestly this polish is absolutely gorgeous! I have most of the Molten Metal range and all have such a nice finish to them, and I find them really easy to apply. Now on to the stamping! Apply the black polish to the whale image on the stamping plate and scrape off the excess. Pick up the design with your stamping, and then carefully paint the whale's belly white (I only used white stamping polish as I seem to have lost my normal white).  Now paint a thin layer of topcoat on your ring finger. You just want enough that the...
