A few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to the holographic stamping polishes by Born Pretty (I purchased them here but you can also get them from the Born Pretty website here). I have only ever used one holographic polish before (Holographic Lights by Barry M), so I was super excited to expand my collection! This mani is my first go at a nail art look using them.
To create this mani I used:
- Born Pretty holographic stamping polishes #04 and #05
- Primark PS... Polishes in Aquamarine and Marshmallow
- Biutee JQ-46 stamping plate
- Clear stamper
- Make up sponge (for creating the gradient)
After basecoat I started with 2 coats of Marshmallow. Then using Aquamarine and Marshmallow on a make up sponge I created the gradient. Primark polishes are REALLY nice for doing this - I only needed to do one layer and it was smooth and opaque enough.
For my ring finger I added two layers of the Born Pretty #04 polish. Honestly this was partly because I got too excited and wanted to see the holo on my nails. This is how the polish looks over white (photo taken with flash).

P.S. Sorry for the dusty table, I didn't realise it was dusty until after I had taken the photos! |
For the stamping I used the flower pattern on the Biutee JQ-46 plate. I used Born Pretty #04 and #05 (one on each half of the design), mixing them together slightly when scraping to get another gradient. I then transferred the design onto the nail with the black holo over the blue polish, and the blue holo over the white polish.
I finished off with the no smear top coat from Born Pretty. I am SO glad I finally purchased this; it's so nice to be able to add the top coat without worrying about the smearing the design.
Overall I am really happy with how this mani turned out! I really like the Born Pretty polishes and I look forward to incorporating them into future manis.
